‘We expected the cookbook to do well’, Andrea says, ‘so we ordered a three times bigger print run than the first cookbook, but our stocks are still running low.’

Andrea has proved once again that her approach to writing about Croatian food is thorough, meticulous and with plenty of images and background stories.

‘I was surprised when people asked me if I REALLY cooked all the dishes from my cookbooks’, Andrea reveals. ‘Of course, I did, and not only once – I cooked until I had a perfect recipe to share. My readers know this and write to thank me for such dedication.’

As an anthropologist, Andrea believes in everything small scale. Even now when her Croatia Honestly shop is growing, she and her team still manage every step of production.

‘I am proud that both cookbooks are produced in Croatia. We work with Croatian designers, photographers and printers. And when the book arrives to our warehouse, we do all the sorting and packing ourselves. My readers know that I am just an email away’, Andrea says.
