Zagreb’s Famous Dolac Markets to Relocate for Makeover

A favourite morning gathering spot for Zagreb locals is set to move locations – at least for a year…
Dolac markets located just above Zagreb’s main square, is about to undergo renovation work which will force the popular farmers markets to move location. The new location will in fact be the ‘old’ location, with Zagreb’s main Ban Jelačić square being home to the fruit and vege markets as it once was many, many years ago.

“Work is expected to start on Dolac next summer. We do not know yet how long works will be carried out for, but Ban Jelačić square will be used we think until summer 2016,” said Miroslav Pupić Bakrač, a spokesperson for Zagreb’s markets, adding that drilling has already started at Dolac.
