The record for the strongest winds recorded at a renowned Croatian windy spot has been smashed on Friday, the State Met Office confirmed…
Krčki most (Krk bridge), the bridge which connects the Adriatic island of Krk with the mainland Croatia, is a spot which gets its fair share of the famous bura winds, but none quiet as powerful as the ones recorded yesterday. The record winds for the bridge, 221.8 kmph set on 11 November 2013, were broken when the bura blew 224 kmph at one point on Friday.
The strongest bura winds ever recorded in Croatia were recorded on Maslenički most (Maslenica Bridge) on the night of 21 December 1990 when winds of 248.4 kmph howled across.
