Discover the master of sarma at the event celebrating the beloved winter delicacy

Laktec, a settlement near Sveti Ivan Zelina just outside of Zagreb will be celebrating sarma for the 17th year in a row this weekend.
One of the most popular winter dishes in Croatia, sarma is a tasty meat-stuffed rolled cabbage leaves and is a winter staple.
On Saturday, November 25, the association of pickled greens producers Laktec is organising the traditional “Sarmijada”, the 17th year in a row.
Dedicated to sarma, the festival will be held in the premises of the Laktec Fire Station starting at 6:00 p.m.

The organizers point out that all parts of the county will be represented through the competing teams, and the culinary skills of the participants will be evaluated by an expert jury.
The three-member teams will each prepare two dishes, one must be sarma, and the other optional, but the main ingredient must be the prominent county brand and delicacy of the Zelin region, pickled greens Laktec.
