For a little over a year, the young and enthusiastic team of Picnic from Zadar has been traveling around Croatia on wheels making finger-licking street food.
The Picnic mingle&fun story is a story about the realisation of the dreams of two young men. Vedran Božičev and Ivan Karačić, after many years of working in large catering systems, decided to start their own story.
The world of catering is one in which they feel good, and they can apply everything they have learned so far in their business. For them, the street concept successfully combines attractive snacks, entertainment and good music.
At this year’s Fuliranje, where they are visiting for the first time, they have have specially prepared. Creative artists from the collective Kalan and Propet (A most unusual garden) have taken care of the decoration of their little house, and in cooperation with Kofer, they are preparing an interactive game for visitors, which will become a great Christmas present.
So put on a warm jacket & good vibes and make your way to Strossmayer Square, and when you get there look for a big board to write Christmas wishes and take a selfie with the giant creature.
Food and drinks are very important for a good mood, so Picnic will arrive with Blackie – the best debutant at this year’s Zagreb Burger Festival, which was its fourth award.
If you become an avid sarma lover as soon as the temperatures drop, you should try našu the sarmu like you’ve never tasted before. It will delight you at the first bite, because the combination is irresistible, and what is hidden in it, if we revealed everything to you, there would be no more magic.
Picnic also introduces Sunday lunch and invites everyone to socialise with guests from Skradin. They will prepare the famous Skradin risotto in the traditional way, and gourmets can expect to feast on the flavours and aromas every Sunday at 1:30 p.m. (December 4, 11, 18).
Ensure your portion of happiness by making a reservation at the little house, because there is always a request for a plate more.
Every Friday, the scents of a specially designed štrudle od bakalara (cod strudel), with some traditional elements, along with mustard aioli and pickled shallots, will spread from Picnic’s little house.
Between Christmas and New Year, the people of Zadar bring the scents of Dalmatia and the favourite dish pašticada with a street version which will only be available for seven days.
When tasting their brewed gin, visitors won’t even need a blanket. For the first time, Picnic are brewing the best Croatian Old Pilot’s Gin, enriched with apple juice, honey, fresh orange and winter spices. This gin is the winner of more than 20 international awards, and without a doubt, true lovers of zest will love it at the first sip.
Stop by during Advent at Picnic’s little house on Strossmayer Square, write down your Christmas wish and toast with the team with a surprise that the people of Zadar have in store.
