Where you can catch Croatia’s famous dance ensemble this summer

LADO dance ensemble is Croatia’s most successful cultural export product. 

The group has been promoting Croatian culture around the world for 75 years through dance and music, for which they have won numerous awards. 

Following the successful fourth edition of the LADO Festival at Mažuranac in Zagreb, LADO continues its tour across southern Croatia this summer, including a performance in Slovenia.

The tour will bring dance and vocal-instrumental concerts to various national and local festivals and events, culminating in a performance at the 75th Dubrovnik Summer Festival in Park Gradac, where LADO has performed since its founding in 1949.

LADO’s dance programme had its first performance of the season in May in Garešnica, showcasing impressive choreographic works such as “Kamen goro prozeleni rano,” “Valpovačko kolo,” and “Dalmatinska kolo poskočica Linđo.”

The programme also includes revived choreographies like “Lički plesovi” and “Sa šibenskih otoka,” as well as the award-winning choreography “Podravski svati.”

LADO’s dance concert will be held on 12 July in Hvar as part of the 63rd Hvar Summer Events, and then on 18 July in Ptuj, Slovenia, as part of the Arsana Festival.

The traditional concert at the 27th “Actors in Zagvozd” event will take place on 20 July, with the highlight of the dance season being on 25 July at the aforementioned Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

In addition to the dance concert, the audience will enjoy the vocal-instrumental concert “Ladarice and Orchestra,” on open stages on 10 July in Blato on Korčula, 21 July at the Split Peristyle as part of the 70th Split Summer Festival, and 22 July in Sinj.
