The beauty of autumn will once again be celebrated this year at the traditional International Pršut Fair (ISAP) in Tinjan, Istria, whose milestone 15th edition will take place from Friday, October 13th, to Sunday, October 15th.
Following an established tradition, over these three days in Tinjan, we anticipate around forty prosciutto producers from Croatia and other countries, both neighbouring ones and those belonging to the Southern and Central European climatic and cultural circle.
Anyone who produces pršut (prosciutto) is welcome in Tinjan, regardless of whether they are from Europe or anywhere else in the world.
Prior to ISAP, pršut will be judged, also following a fifteen-year tradition. So, during the fair’s opening on Friday, October 13th, at 1:00 PM, awards will be given to champions in several categories. It’s worth noting that alongside Istrian pršut, which holds the European Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), ISAP showcases three other types of Croatian pršut with the European Protected Geographical Indication (PGI): Krk, Dalmatian, and Drniš pršut.
At ISAP, there will also be the opportunity to taste pršut from Slovenia, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Hungary, and Montenegro.
The 15th Jubilee ISAP will feature the strongest accompanying programs to date, both in sports and entertainment. Over the three days of ISAP, on Friday, Severina and Replay band will perform, on Saturday, Luka Basi and Night Express, and on Sunday, Gustafi will close the event.
There will also be an entertaining program in the main tent, featuring performances by Malvazija band on Friday, Alfa time band and Lucky band on Saturday, and Laguna band and Duo Magnolija on Sunday. Throughout all three days, DJ Kriza will entertain in the party zone.
On the first day of ISAP, on Friday evening at 11:00 PM, the jubilee will be celebrated with a fitting fireworks display. Saturday will be a day for athletes and enthusiasts, with tournaments in traditional handball, clay pigeon shooting, a cornhole tournament, and an adventurous team hunt for pršut. Sunday will be reserved for a large recreational bike ride.
Throughout all three days of the fair, an exhibition of the Depiera Local Collection will be on display in the House of Istrian Pršut. On Saturday and Sunday, guided tastings of pršut and wine will be held in the Youth Center, and on Sunday afternoon, we can expect a performance by the Kumpanija Kosirići Folklore Society and the Tinjan majorettes.
