Everything is ready for the second of three summer festivals in Pelješac. Food enthusiasts can look forward to the Open Cellar Day of Pelješac wineries on June 17th, the Muscat Day on June 18th, and the highlight of the event, the Pelješac Feast on June 25th.
The southern part of Dalmatia is always attractive, but when the Festival of Pelješac Flavors takes place, which traditionally happens on this peninsula, it is an opportunity to truly experience the destination and have an unforgettable vacation.
Because, how else can you feel the tradition of Pelješac than through shellfish, young lamb, fish stew, black risotto, unique boat trips, and tasting oysters in the Bay of Mali Ston… and of course, the top-quality Pelješac red wines.
The festival, which takes place from June 15th to June 30th, offers the best of Pelješac – from gastronomic specialties and wine delights to traditional entertainment and natural beauty. It is the result of collaboration between the tourist boards of the municipalities of Ston, Janjina, Orebić, and Trpanj, who, for the third summer season, promote an attractive range of offerings and destination experiences to their guests.
Once again, Pelješac restaurants, taverns, and family farms have joined the story, with about fifty of them offering promotional prices. The culmination of the event will be on June 25th in Drače, where the traditional Pelješac Feast will take place from 8 PM. It will be a gathering of Pelješac restaurateurs and winemakers with lovers of the finest Pelješac delicacies, a true feast of food and wine.
The warm-up begins on June 17th with the Open Cellar Days of Pelješac wineries. Besides being able to buy wines at favorable prices, visitors will also receive a voucher for two free wine tastings. On that day, the settlement of Kuna Pelješka will host a celebration from 7 PM to midnight, featuring music and, typically for the inland part of the peninsula, lamb on a spit.
The following day, on June 18th, from 3 PM to 7 PM, Muscat Day will take place in Drače. This picturesque place will be filled with the aroma of mussels, also known as mussels, which will perfectly complement the Pelješac wines. The evening is reserved for excellent entertainment.
The organization of the events involves the Pelješac associations Pelješki Vinski Puti and Plavac Mali – Pelješac, the League Against Cancer of Korčula, Lastovo, Pelješac, Mljet – Janjina branch, and the Children of Pelješac.
“We are delighted that numerous restaurant owners, family farms, and wineries share our enthusiasm and desire to provide tourists with a complete experience of the destination. Tourists love to sit with the locals, try traditional dishes, experience authentic life firsthand, and we provide all of that at reasonable prices,” said Bianka Jasprica, Director of the Tourist Board of Janjina, inviting everyone to visit the beautiful Pelješac this summer.
