Tourist boards from the area of Pelješac – Orebić, Ston, Janjina and Trpanj have been united by projects for the last two years, and continuous work is being done on the development of events and on the development of outdoor offers.
As part of the development of the outdoor offer, an interactive map of Pelješac was presented last year, and now a printed map of MTB (mountain biking), hiking trails and hiking trails of the entire Pelješac peninsula has been created.
The map contains five circular MTB and eight hiking trails, and for each trail there are technical data on the length and difficulty of the trail, the type of surface, and descriptions and photos are also attached.
In addition to the mentioned trails, a network of hiking trails has also been mapped out. The map is double-sided and covers the whole of Pelješac, and will be distributed in the information centers of tourist boards, at the reception desks of hotels and campsites.
The map of Pelješac was created in cooperation with established experts in the outdoor world – Goran Šepić as project manager (experienced mountaineer, mountaineer and cycling guide), project collaborator Martin Čotar (with numerous high-quality outdoor projects) and with the proven design of Alen Paliska (organizer of numerous race including Istria 100 by UTMB, realized numerous design projects).
In cooperation with them, a cartographic outdoor map of Pelješac was created on a scale of 1:40,000, and the conceptual concept, graphic preparation and preparation for map printing were completely designed. The new map will be available online in a reduced web version.
Pelješac has been intensively developing its outdoor offer for the past two years – so far an interactive map has been created, the trails of which have been designed in cooperation with local cyclists and mountaineers. After the printed map has been created, the plan is to create an elaboration of mountain bike and pedestrian signage by the end of the year.
As the tourist boards emphasize, the goal of the project is to extend the pre and post-season, and considering that outdoor demand is constantly increasing, its further growth is expected. The product is intended for guests staying in Pelješac, who want an authentic experience inspired by outdoor activities during their stay.
