Strong earthquake on Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina border felt across Dalmatia

The strong earthquake, where the epicentre was right on the border between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been felt throughout Dalmatia.
The earthquake, which was initially reported to have a magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scale, hit at 10:29 AM on Monday morning.
The epicentre was on the border with Croatia near Imotski, 39 kilometres west of Mostar, and seven kilometres west of the town of Grude in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was also felt along the entire Dalmatian coast and in the inland areas of Dalmatia.
“It just shook two minutes ago! It made my chair wobble on the ground floor,” said a commenter in Živogošće on the Makarska Riviera,”

“A stronger jolt followed by shaking. There were two shocks, the first one a bit weaker and the second one stronger, which lasted longer,” other people commented on the EMSC X page.
So far there are no reports of major injuries or damage.

To recall, a strong earthquake near nearby Stolac occurred in 2022 as well, with a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale. It shook on April 22 at a depth of 10 kilometres and one woman lost her life due to injuries caused by a rock falling on her house. More than 200 buildings were damaged, 24sata reported.
