The first snowfall of the season has arrived in Croatia. Whilst parts of Dalmatia enjoy temperatures around 20°C there was snow further in land..
According to the State Meteorological and Hydrological Service (DHMZ), the Zavižan peak on the northern Velebit mountain was sprinkled with around 1 centimetre of snow in the early hours of Monday morning.
There was also snow for the first time this season at one of Rijeka’s popular ski spots Platak as temperatures hovered around 0°C.
Snow was continuing to fall at Zavižan throughout Monday and forecasters say that Zagreb’s Sljeme mountain could also be in for some snow later tonight.
Temperatures for most of Croatia were in the teens today but snow could hit places above 700 metres above sea level later on Monday.
