Dinamo Zagreb wins Croatian league title for 25th time

Dinamo Zagreb has won the Croatian league title on Saturday night in front of their fans at Maksimir Stadium. 

The Zagreb-based club claimed 2023-24 SuperSport HNL title two rounds before the end of the season after beating Osijek 1-0 tonight at home. 

Veteran Arijan Ademi scored the decisive goal in the 72nd minute to secure the title for Dinamo.  

The title is the 25th for the club since Croatia gained independence and the 35th in total in the club’s history. 

With two rounds remaining, Dinamo has 78 points, 7 ahead of Rijeka who have 71 points in second place. Hajduk Split is third with 61 points.  

Dinamo have lost just four times in 34 matches this season in the HNL.

Dinamo was led at the start of the season by former Croatia international and Liverpool midfielder Igor Bišćan before he was sacked in August.

Sergej Jakirović took over from Bišćan and led them throughout he season. The club has a chance to do the double when the meet Rijeka in the Croatian Cup final later this month.  

Dinamo Zagreb also reached the last 16 of the Europa Conference League this season before being knocked out by Greek side PAOK.
