Global travel site Big 7 Travel has officially released its annual list of ‘The 50 Best Islands in The World’ with one in Croatian making the top 10.
Based on aggregated scores from previous media results and the expert contributions of the Big 7 Travel editorial team, the list features diverse breathtaking islands from around the globe.
The Croatian island of Hvar has made the list as the 10th best island in the world.
“Hvar might be one of Croatia’s best-known and trendiest islands but that doesn’t make it any less special. Between its cobbled alleys, cocktail bars and yacht-lined promenade it’s easy to see why travellers hotfoot to Hvar Town, but beyond the capital, there are ancient hamlets, acres of vineyards and secluded beaches for those looking for something a little more low-key. Star-spotters should get extra excited: Jelsa was recently named the first International Dark Sky Community in Southern Europe,” Big 7 Travel writes.
Topping the list in no.1 spot was The Bahamas, followed by Tasmania and the Raja Ampat Islands in Indonesia, Tahiti and the Galapagos in Ecuador.
