ZAGREB, 13 Nov (Hina) – A free mobile application Croatian Soundscript (Hrvatski Zvukopis), which has already been implemented in New York and Paris promoting Croatian literature, is now also available in the streets of London.
This free mobile application enables users to listen to short stories of contemporary Croatian writers as well as excerpts from old Croatian literature in audio format.
The content is available in Croatian and English, which increases the availability and visibility of Croatian literature outside Croatia.
Users can download the application from Google Play or Apple App Store.
In 2022, the mobile application was implemented in New York as the first international urban location where Croats outside Croatia live to spread to other urban areas outside Croatia. After that, the project was also introduced in Paris.
“Croatian Soundscript is a free mobile application that contains sound-designed unpublished short urban stories by Croatian authors and excerpts from written works of old Croatian literature inspired by the space in which they are located,” creators said, adding.
“It is activated with the help of geolocation. All you have to do is install the mobile application, turn ON geolocation and walk through the streets of the cities where the Croatian Soundscript program is implemented. With each new push notification that arrives on your mobile phone, you can listen to a new story with your own headset, also take it with you and share it with others.”
The project, initiated by author Jelena Remetin, has been supported by the Croatian ministry of culture, the central office for the Croats outside Croatia and the tourist board in the City of Zagreb.
More details about the app can be found on the official website.
