VIDEO: Croatian Fraternal Union of America present “Far away, but close to the heart” performance

Over 1,000 American-Croatian tamburitza players did not have the opportunity to showcase their talent this year after the 54th Annual Junior Cultural Federation Tamburitza Festival was cancelled.
Tamburitza ensembles from the United States and Canada were set to perform last weekend in Cleveland, Ohio.
“Unfortunately, the COVID-19 virus has caused the CFU Junior Cultural Federation tamburitza festival to be cancelled. However, we extend our congratulations to Jason Ottman and the directors of the ensembles for their work all year long in teaching our children the songs and dances of Croatia,” organisers said.
All was not lost, however. A special director’s performance of “Kad Poletis Mala Ptico” was prepared by the Croatian Fraternal Union with the assistance of talented members including friends from Croatia who they met as part of the annual CFU Cultural Tour.
