Days of Hvar Wines to take place Aug 27 – Sept 6 in Jelsa

ZAGREB, Aug 27 (Hina) – In place of the traditional Wine Festival (Fešta vina) which cannot be held this summer because of epidemiological reasons, Days of Hvar Wines will be organised from August 27 to September 6 in Jelsa on the island of Hvar, the Tourist Board of Jelsa Municipality said on Wednesday.

Days of Hvar Wines will take place under the slogan “When on Hvar, drink Hvar wine” to provide numerous guests with the opportunity of tasting quality wines from local wineries.

“Although we did everything we could to keep it going, mostly to preserve the tradition which has been going one since 1952, we had to cancel the Fešta vina. We thank all the fans, loyal guests of Fešta vina for their understanding, we expect your support in this situation as well, because we really have to be careful about the virus and act in accordance with the instructions of the authorities,” said Marija Marjan, director of the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Jelsa.

The festival will include an expert evaluation of Hvar wines, the 2nd Jelsa Summer Wine Tasting. Wines can be tasted in restaurants and catering facilities: quality wines at a price of 15 kuna and top quality for 25 kn.

Visitors will be able to taste the wines of the following wineries:
