Not many people know, but Zagreb’s iconic blue trams are actually available for rent.
Those who love trams or simply want to mark a private event in a special way can contact Zagrebački električni tramvaj (ZET), the authority responsible for public transport in the Croatian capital, and, for a specific fee, rent one of their trams.
Prices and a list of available models are available on the official ZET website, and among them is the old-timer M-24, which now serves as a tourist tram.
The most expensive low-floor trams TMK2200 – for those who want to “ride” them through the city in their own arrangement for an hour, it will cost 291.99 euros, excluding VAT, reports Zagrebinfo.
The articulated tram TMK2001, which mostly operates on the no.5 line today, costs 238.90 for an hour of travel.
Other available trams – the old “Čeh” T4B4, KT4, which usually operates to the West station, and models 201 and the tourist tram M24 – cost 199.08 euros for an hour of travel.
These prices do not include VAT, so 25 percent should be added to that amount. The stated prices include the type of vehicle, the agreed route, and the travel time from departure to return to the depot. The service also includes transportation provided by ZET’s driver.
Many have used this service for weddings, birthday celebrations, and even business events. Those interested can bring tables and even catering into the vehicle.
