The successful Slavonians with a Zagreb address win a total of 28 medals for the quality of their Wise Grus in just one year.

Although Goran and Dora Kovačić don’t believe in miracles, one has happened to them. However, behind every business success, there is a lot of hard work and effort.

In just one year, they have won a total of 28 gold and silver medals for quality at domestic and international competitions.

These are mostly international recognitions for the Kovačićs, who decided to leave the banking sector and start production on their ancestral land using ancient family recipes, paying great attention to tradition.

This move was more than risky, especially considering the rich variety of drinks in Croatia, but they wholeheartedly believed they would succeed, and that is exactly what happened.

Wise Grus (Wise Crane) has already positioned itself significantly in Croatia and is recognised by the wise bird, the protector of the town of Daruvar.

This time, the “birth” of their new bestsellers took a bit longer, as the women in the company, inclined towards perfect flavours, took over the definition of tastes and aromas.

They went through numerous spices and the highest quality fruit macerates until they found the winning composition. Spices are usually a common ingredient in liqueurs, but these creative ladies also chose some exotic flavours, which are not so commonly encountered. They also devised several cocktails to brighten many hot summer nights (recipes are attached).

The first to see the light of day is Višnjevac – which can be found in every Slavonian home and as such, is a guardian of tradition.

The rich cherry aroma with delicate notes of marzipan in the taste is a perfect combination and is usually served at a temperature of 8 to 10 degrees. It impressed the demanding juries in Frankfurt and London to such an extent that they awarded it a gold medal.

We enjoy its dark aromatic berries, and it is especially joyful to find them in the forest and taste them immediately. Borovniček carries that very freshness of forest notes and seductive colour with a gentle acidity, and when all these flavors blend, a perfect harmony is created. This liqueur won a silver shine in London.

It is named after the beautiful fragrant pear and is called Viljamovac. The velvety and luxurious aroma of ripe pears immersed in a top-quality William pear distillate is pure pleasure in taste and extraordinary aroma. Although young, its special taste delighted the jury at an international competition in London, earning it a silver medal.

Teranin hides peppery notes combined with the freshness of Teran wine, with the addition of cinnamon, cloves, and orange peel. It combines the best of nature, Istrian and Slavonian traditions. It is a favourite drink of women, and its taste lingers in memory.
