Croatia’s Baby Lasagna has secured a spot in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 final following an impressive performance in the first semi-final held in Malmo, Sweden tonight.
Adorned in a traditional Croatian lace shirt with a waistcoat over the top, Baby Lasagna wowed the big crowd at the Malmö Arena with his song “Rim Tim Tagi Dim”.
Most were dancing and singing along with the Croatian who not only got the biggest reaction from the crowd, but also from the press box.
This catchy tune, which tells the story of a young Croatian seeking better opportunities in the city, has been a top favourite to win Eurovision among bookies for weeks.

From Umag in Istria, Marko Purišić (28), the artist behind Baby Lasagna, began his musical journey as a guitarist for the Croatian rock band Manntra.
However, he ventured into a solo career in 2023, debuting with his single “IG Boi” under Molly Studios. Following its success, he released “Don’t Hate Yourself, But Don’t Love Yourself too Much” towards the end of last year.
The Eurovision fever continues with the second semi-final scheduled for Thursday, May 9, and the grand finale set to take place at the Malmö Arena on Saturday, May 11. 10 finalists selected from tonight and 10 from Thursday will battle it out on the final night.
Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, is hosting a viewing party for the Eurovision final on May 11, starting at 8:00 PM at European Square in downtown Zagreb. This is the first time his has happened in Croatia.

Croatia’s history with Eurovision dates back to its debut in 1993, having participated 29 times. The country’s notable achievements include fourth-place finishes in 1996 (Maja Blagdan) and 1999 (Doris Dragović).
